Desiree Ultican loves history and mysterious circumstances. She is a graphic designer by trade, a collector of vintage paper ephemera by inclination and an author by desire and determination. Besides working on novels, she writes short stories and poetry and keeps company with cats and her husband, Jim.

She had some short stories published in print several years ago. One was picked up by the PEN Syndicated Fiction Project and another won a Missouri fiction prize and she recorded it for National Public Radio. Most recently, she has had her stories published online on PrometheusDreaming.com and ArielChart.com.
