Misty Urban is a fiction writer, medievalist, essayist, editor, and former college professor. She writes historical romance, contemporary women's fiction, award-winning short stories and creative nonfiction, and medieval scholarship on the topic of monstrous women. She holds an MFA in fiction and a Ph.D. in medieval literature from Cornell University and lives in eastern Iowa with her family and a rather heavy collection of books.
