Writing has been an integral part of who I am for most of my life. I started writing short stories at the age of 6 with a pencil on the floor of our dining room in Texas. I began writing Savant in 1984 and quickly realized that writing a good fantasy was considerably more complex than I'd imagined. An interview with Raymond E. Feist (author of the bestselling Riftwar Saga) was highly instrumental in my development as an author. He gave me some pointers that I've never forgotten, but it took me nearly 40 years to implement them into my writing.

I've done a lot of reading since then and discovered that I despise mediocrity, and this extends to my own writing. It has taken me a little longer than some to develop my skills to the point where I am comfortable with sharing with the world, but I hope my readers will enjoy reading my works as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
