Author's Biography
Though born in North Carolina, Dr. Matthew Huddleston spent most of his childhood in a small jungle village in the Democratic Republic of Congo (what was then called Zaire) while his father worked as a linguist to develop a writing system for the language of the Bali people. Returning to the US, he received a Masters in space physics and astronomy from Rice University before moving to Nashville to finish up his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt.
Dr. Huddleston now enjoys occasional research projects in magnetospheric space physics, but he is primarily a teacher and communicator at heart. He continues to instruct and mentor undergraduates at Trevecca University in Nashville, TN. The topics of his classroom lectures often become inspirations for stories, and he believes that the science of the real world contains more wonder and mystery than anything he could invent as an author.
In addition to writing and teaching, he is also a hopeless wanderer, having traveled to over forty different countries.
