Ana Hebra Flaster

Few Words From the Author/Publisher:

I wrote "Property of the Revolution" to honor the viejos (elders) in our refugee family, the ones who gave up their Cuban lives so we could have a shot at better and freer ones in the United States. I often wonder if I would have had enough courage to do what they did. This is my exploration of what they—and we, in my generation—went through, the cost of political turmoil, revolution, and "destierro" (uprooting). I call it the long reach of "refugeedom." I hope you find wisdom and inspiration in our journey. I hope that, like other readers, you laugh and shed a tear or two. Most of all I hope you enjoy being with our multigenerational, loving, chaotic, funny, and brave immigrant family.
